    Coolant Thermostat on Bf

    Hey guys.

    I have a Bf with Bp 1,8 shoc motor wich i installed couple weeks ago and the thermostat was ruined. The car wouldn't heat ( not good for Icelandic conditions Ok so i bought a new one from nipparts (number J1533008)
    And now the thermometer goes almost all the way to the top. So my question is, has anybody had this problem with BP swaps in BF's or am i doing it wrong? I found one on the internet that says 82 celsius but I'm not sure if that would do the trick :/

    Could be a wiring issue somewhere. I take it the head gaskets fine? as thats a sign, blowing cold air and overheating.

      The Head gasket is good, It's blowing hot now. Maby the Bg cluster thermometer has different resistance than the bF ?

      Since the BF cluster shows upp to 120 celsius and the BG one shows only C and H :/

        Ohh! Correction, It's not overheating just the meter goes really high.

          I have he opposite problem since I installed my MX5 head, gauge reads very low, I had to use the MX5 sensor as the GTX one did not fit. If the gauge gets to near half I know i'ts running hot. If yours is showing a high reading maybe install a variable resistor in-line and just adjust it until it reads right.

            I'd try to swap in your b6 coolant gauge sender in the B8 motor, see if that fixes your gauge issues. People have to do that when going from Mazda to the Ford variant.
