Shift Knob Questions

hey guys i want to replace my shift knob and maybe the boot, but i don't know how to get them off. it would be cool if you guys could tell me how before i just go out and try to pry it off and damage it. thanks

twist the knob off. you can slip off the boot when you take off the cupholders by pulling down and out on it from beneath.

taking the shiftboot rather easy to take off. so what about puting it back on. i have a lot of dirt/food build up in the hard to reach place on the shift boot and i want to clean it out but i didn't know if it would be a pain puting it back.

its same procedure to put it on, just reverse.

you stick the edges of the boot down and reach under to pull them onto their tabs which hold them into place.

how about cutting off the shift lever where the threads end and making new threads? that way it wont be as tall? there fore shorter throws
