    New Protege

I Just Bought A 2000 Protege And I Was Wondering What My First Step Should Be As Far As Adding Horsepower. I Was Considering Cold Air Intake As Well As Exhaust.

first off welcome to clubprotege, second be sure to post pics in the member gallery, third your on a good start, Injen CAI(cold air intake) and catback exhaust... Then you can move to turbo, which most of us 3rd genner 1.sixxers are moving to...later
According to my Anger Management Counselor, after 26 weeks of anger management class, I should be an expert when it comes to Anger Management...tell that to the guy who threw a starburst at my car in rush hour traffic...haha

    Todays thought of the day:

What is your budget? Intake and exhaust is pretty much everybody's first step.

EDIT: What a shock...me and fuq are the first ones to post moments after the thread was started.

Welcome, I would add a full exhaust, Work on the suspension and leave the intake alone if your gonna go turbo. Why spend 200 on something your gonna take off in 3-6 months. If your not into turbocharging your ride add the intake and a 35-50 shot of nos.

                            just kidding.

get a header. best bang for the buck besides turbo.

Welcome to the club. I just bought my Protege in Nov & just did my first mods--exhaust and a bit of tinkering with the stock intake until I can get the money together for an intake. Headers are a good way to go, decent HP for the money invested. I will get to that eventully but I don't mess with the warranty, in case I **** it up whan I put them on...
