Coilover fitment

I was wondering if coilovers from a 1996 ford escort would fit on a 2000 protege dx. I'm only asking becuz my friend is willing to sell me them and he said that they would fit, is that true???? thanks

Nope, they may fit a 1st gen Protege but not a 3rd gen that's for sure.
