As far as modifications go, R-compound tires, suspension components, etc etc. It could also depend on the classification goes.-Kevin

Absolutely nothing. do NOT modify the car. The car is fine.
start going to as many events as possible."Never run out of real estate, traction & ideas at the same time"

no, but if you're starting from a blank slate, then don't modify.
I fell into the same thing as most of you. I had basic bolt-ons on the car when I started. STS is where I started. It worked out, but only because luckily for me, nothing put me into a higher class."Never run out of real estate, traction & ideas at the same time"

Sign up for a novice school and do as many events as possible. What mods do you have done already? Focus on being smooth with your inputs, ask for help and advice at the events and be patient, not everyone is fast out of the box...I wasn't and now I do quite well here....good luck and welcome to the sport.

As stated, seat time is the key. Nothing says that you have to participate in just events that are local to you. Do as Jesse and I do and travel to other regions. It's certainly worth the drive. I'm willing to bet there's at least one other region within a 1.5 hour drive from you. practice practice practice.-Kevin
