BG hubs on BF GTX? Sick of replacing wheel bearings.

    Hey Guys,

Just curious if anyone has done it. IM SICK of replacing wheel bearings on my BF.

I know I would then have two different bolt pattens, but I am beginning not to care.

    Anyone done it?

    Thanks

I'm planning on doing this, and have the bits collected already, but I haven't actually done it yet. Are you talking about a 4WD, or FWD? For mine, which is a BF GTX, I'm using all 4WD BG knuckles and hubs. You'll need the 4WD parts for 4WD, and FWD for FWD, as the geometry is different. You'll also need hybrid axles, or all BG stuff. I'm not positive on the lengths, as I can't find any write ups, but I know for sure the rear will be the right length with BG parts.

I don't think it would be worthwhile as they are pretty heavy to ship, but what do ya want for em?

I started swapping my bearings out last night and it's actually not too bad once you get to it. The bearings came off/out pretty easily without cutting or pullers, though the first couple times I did them they were no fun.

Please move this over to the proper section, I see i posted in the BF worklog.

        THanks

If they come off that easy, that is part of why you're having to replace em. I bet your spindles are worn. Easy to swap over BG hubs but you'll have to swap uprights and suspension. I bet you'll get to play with halfshafts, mating the BG outer to the BF inner. It's all doable and you'll never have to think about wheelbearings again.

Its totally worth it for a number of reasons. Better bearing design, better brakes, more commonly available 4x100 wheel selection, and use of bg struts and springs.

Its not cheap but its wortht it. And a complete set of bg 4wd spindles is not easy to come by in north america
