DRY ICE in air Filter ????

by putting dry ice in your intake would that harm anything and would you think that it iowuld give any gains???? The ice would sit in the filter part.....

would the dry ice be inside the filter portion (i.e. the air going into the engine passes over the dry ice)? If so I can imagine that this will have the effect of putting more carbon dioxide into the engine and will hurt your combustion.

If using it too cool the air into the engine only then it might work.

Dry ice is formed from liquefied carbon Dioxide which is "frozen". The temperature at atmospheric pressure is -109 degrees farenheit. Yes it would cool the air quite well, but the "melting ice" would also turn back into carbon dioxide gas which as we know is not combustible, and would get sucked into the engine.
On the otherhand, if you could say, contain it, like find out a way to use it as a cooler for the intake tract, then you might see some gains.
This brings back a memory of some drag racers spraying liquefied gases onto their intercoolers just before a race.

there is an old racer secret were they put a bunch of ice in a bag and put it around the air filter and it has gains kinda like cai my dad used to do this when he raced
            i is dumb

most drag racers today simply ice down the intake manifold before a race...$0.99 bag of ice...works great
