    BG 323 Cargo Covers

I'm looking to start this project after the turn of the year. So currently this is a gauging interest thread.

Who in the BG Chassis 323 hatch back community would like to have a new hatch cargo cover? Maybe one that doesn't sag an possibly never will? Ryan was nice enough to send me one that is rather mint recently. with this I can build a mold and replicate in fiberglass. From the outside looking in it would look rather stock. The top would come covered in fabric that is UV resistant. The bottom would be sprayed black. I would drill all the proper holes for the rear rubber stops and the draw strings. The covers fabric color would be blue, charcoal/blackish, or tan. I can't promise an exact match since well I'm not Mazda. But the match will be close. The factory metal front under rail that attaches i can get from the local junk yard off most any 323 or escort hatch. The cover will come with that attached already.

I have not started this process yet. This is a large under taking since i will be building these by hand every time. I do not own any fancy tools or a vac-table. As the mold build will be timely and expensive. I have sat down and done the math however. All things considered I feel I can make these for roughly $250 plus shipping. This includes a $20 gratuity that will go straight to Ryan for CP.com. For me to produce these I would need at least 3 people to commit and make a 50% down payment.

These are the kind of things I love to see. Unfortunately I don't have a hatch but I hope people take advantage of this offer.

Same here. I'd be interested if it were half as expensive

well i have looked into a DIY vac table and it's near 300 in parts to build one to what i need. i will be hitting up a few places in the next couple weeks to ask about helping me. no matter what i have to build the mold.

local place i found that has a vac table will not answer the phone. they happen to be 35 minutes out of my way to just "swing by" so my hunt continues.
