    FMU and Emanage

Well I just recently found out from some research that the Protege is not compatible with a S-AFC. So this leaves me in a bad situation. I do not want the entire fuel management to be rely on the FMU. But what I was thinking is what if I ran the Greddy Emanage system and the FMU. From what I have read the Emanage system can not control the timing for the Protege, but it can control fuel. So theoretically if I ran a FMU along with the Emanage that would cover my tuning and fuel management right? Thus allowing me to be able to have my car tuned to prevent detonation and other such evils.

why cant it control the timing?

My year Protege is a bastard when it comes to the ECU. No manual timing without an expensive fuel management system.

WOW, I was under the impression it was around $1k. Hmm...new choice thrown into the mix.

EDIT: Damn I had a feeling you were going to link me to that long ass thread. I will have to take the time and read through it when I get some free time.

Don't touch the e-manage or SAFC for 3rd gens. S-AFC 2 is great for 1st gens. AEM has a great product for the 3rd gen protege now and the MPI is a decent product for the price.
