n00b!! yes i am, and proud of it

    Hey all

    I am 99% n00b here
    from Boston, MA

FYI, i read every thread about the 1st gen on here.

    I am working on a 93 Pro LX, 5spd
it is rocking 190K mi, running strong

    mods so far
-K&N panel filter and modified box for max flow, but still looks stock.
-Straight pipe from header back (taking it off soon to pass emissions)
-crooked steering wheel (what is up with that?)

like most of you guys, i fell in love with the pro while i owned a Subaru RS-T riding on Tein coilovers.

i truly enjoy the handling and feel of the car, and the amazing boiler under the hood.

    best regards

Do you still have the RS-T? I haven't had the pleasure of driving an RS, only a Forester and a WRX wagon :p: I can honestly say I like driving my Protege better than the WRX. The Forester is cool but I haven't driven it in a long time. But driving around a car that works and has a warranty can be nice sometimes.

a stock 2.5 short block costs in the $2,000, brand new with 0 miles

but i replaced the blown 2.5 with a 2.2T that used to be found in the legacy turbo's. With the RS heads and gaskets, compression is around 8.1:1.
