    my up coming setup

    hey guys, i know you get a lot of these, but i am a n00b and that is what i do!!
    1st:
    -Progress progressive springs
    -KYB GR-2 shocks
    -slightly modified rear strut bar (more oversteer)
    2nd:
    -Custom front strut bar, triangulates to the firewall
    -Custom rear strut, triangulates to the bottom of the trunk

    looking for tight and comfortable street ride with occasional Auto-X (just quited my 3 year addiction) and track days(Limerock fan)

    that is it for now, and please post your comments/opinions.

      if your gonna upgrade your shocks why not do your struts to? They kinda go hand in hand. Its cool that your a newbie and all, but only 1 post will do to let us know that. Its cool that you read first before asking questions to!

          I meant shocks/struts upgrade

          I seem to like having softer shocks compared to springs, if you see my point.

          and when i mention, swapping struts/shocks, i mean top mounts and all the bolts that are used for the operation. I hate putting used things back on a car.

            I think y'all are a bit confused. The Protege uses MacPherson struts on all 4 corners of the car. The shock is integral with the strut- that's what makes it a strut. Some cars do have replaceable strut inserts, but the 1st gen. Protege is not one of those.

              A strut bar really won't increase oversteer. Perhaps you're thinking of a sway bar? (also known as an anti-roll or anti-sway bar)

                  aren't GR2's just oem replacements? i had them on my other car and lowered it on Eibach Sportlines, and the struts blew in like 2 months. as far as all the info i got by searching here, go with tokico "blues". im saving for those, and mx3 lowering springs.

                      I got the zx-2's with eibacj pro kit. WOW Firm ride, but not so much that its really rough. Great setup IMO.

                          A strut bar really won't increase oversteer. Perhaps you're thinking of a sway bar? (also known as an anti-roll or anti-sway bar)
