how much can a T3 handle?

Up to what PSI is a Garrett T3 (AR42/48) good for?
I've heard it's up to 15psi and also heard that its up to 21psi.

learn to read a flow chart,
    figure out the efficency..
Then you will know the peak psi of the giving turbo.

Not all T3's are the same.

15 psi, not a chance, 21 is closer but I've hear most t3's maxing out at 25-27 psi.

Boost is a measurement of backpressure.Different engines will have different volumetric eff.

It's best to learn how to read a compressor map and figure out what will work.

The 42/48 turbo is great between 12-18psi on the BP 1.8. It has quick spoolup and great top end. Don't expect it to push efficient CFM past 18 psi unless your running C-16, then it should flow decently but not over 20psi. That turbo is good for 300whp under 15psi, so it should suit just about most of the drivers out there.

I'd lean more toward the newer GT style turbos... T series are the older tech, though well proven. You can even bolt some of the new ones onto the exact same manifold.
