cool air intake: build your own?

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone has built their own cool air intake?
I have been told that it is easy and cheaper to build your own out of a cone filter and some piping than to buy one.

    Any ideas? Comments? Walkthroughs?

    Pictures would help as well.

          No problem.

There's a place online where you can buy the piping yourself. I don't know the URL but I'm sure someone here should know.

i went to mineke and got some 2 1/2 in stainless steel pipe and had it bent for like 10 bux then went to ace hardware and got some pipeclamps and couplings for like 2 dollars and i had a couple filters at my house already
