Passport 8500 or Valentine 1????

Im just curious if any of u own either. I just bought a 8500 and havent had a chance to use it yet but was wondering which u guys would prefer and why. They both say they are the best :-/

I don't know a whole lot about them, but every review I've read had the V1 just barely edging out the 8500.

I had an Escort and was very pleased, but the Valentine ONE is the better of the two IMO. Not many people have them in their cars because it costs around $400, but from all the magazine reviews and word of mouth, I hear that the V1 is a better detector of the two.
Also, when I was married, I got my wife a K40 portable radar detector and was shocked on how the audible sounds were not distinguishable from one another (was that a K or a KA sound going off?) Also, the range sucked and it was overpriced. It had a 30 day money back guarantee, so it went back to the place it was purchased and got her a BEL radar detector which was highly rated at the time, but still not as highly rated as a V1.

Just my 2 cents.

Well i got mine from a shop for 299. It may not be the best but i didn't have to order it and its 100 dollars less :-). Jon
