    painting interior

So I wanna paint my trim and HVAC.
I saw a how-to a while back, but i seem to be retarded and unable to find it.

Anybody have the link on how to remove the HVAC and what steps are required to paint?
    I think it's:
    1) remove
    2) sand with 400grain
    3) primer
    4) spray paint
    5) seal???

    thanks!

i believe the cover just pops off after you unhook the heater control cables, not totally sure tho. after that you need to sand some medium sandpaper, 400 should work fine. then primer, and sand that with some higher grit like 800 then 1000 grit to make it nice and smooth. then paint with a couple light, even coats. i would recommend wetsanding the piece after paint very lightly with something like 1500 or even 2000 grit. then clear coat a couple times. after the clear dries id take a rubbing compound or wax and polish it till its like a mirror. for interior, if you dont want it smooth like glass, then you can skip a couple sanding steps, but i recommend the other way.

i don't want it too reflective..
but i found a couple of 'how to's' at msprotege.com
the guy suggested using 400 grit wet sandpaper.. but i'm going to look for something like 600 or 800...
i looked at home depot - had nothing.. i hate home depot.
gonna try canadian tire and rona when i get back from my trip.
