    junkyard prowling

there are a few junkyards around here... if i were to go looking for anything to give my car a boost in any way (cosmetically and/or the way it runs) what could i look for? I have a 90 pro se w/ 130k miles and a few exterior bruises... i can post pics. also, in looking, what would be good prices for these items you suggest? for sure i will be looking for a radiator (mine has a pinhole in it... been giving me problems lately), guages (i dont have a tach and id like one), grille (busted out in accident before i even knew the car would be mine), right mirror (not power), maybe a few other things. any help would be great, and if there are items i can look for to possibly ship to anyone requesting, i will look.

Mudflaps; beware of junkyard radiators, they can be a gamble. If you get one try and get a 30-day guarantee. The Protege radiators have plastic tops which tend to cause problems.

Get one out of a 91-96 escort. All metal.

i dunno if you have power doors (mirriors, locks, windows), if you dont you can spend some time at a pro (90-94) that has them and take them and swap them into your car as i did....its time consuming but well worth the effort....trust thos of us who did it

You could always pull the oil cooler from a 91-96 EGT or 90-94 Protege LX. Not really a performance modification, per se.

Oil Cooling is especially good if you go boosted.

Oh and look fo r a second Gen RX7 while you're there. If you can, take the VAF. It can be used for preformance gains on proteges. You do have to tune it, but its worth it IMO.

EGT side skirts and wing are sought after as well as an EGT moon roof to bolt in place of the protege sunroof.

contrary to popular belief that is not true. Someone posted a dyno of their pro with the RX7 maf, and it actually had slight (not much but still there) gains throughout the whole power band.

I looked for the page with the dynbo results posted but cant find it. I was gonna link to it in my last post.
