Need a 5 spd tranny for my BP. Can't find G, will an F series hold up?

(this is a cross post... and i will understand it if the admins want to delete it. I am in desperate need for help! Also , I wasn't sure if the post belonged in the 1st gen or 2nd gen forum since both share the 1.8L engine and the F and G trannies)

You should be looking for a G out of a first gen.
The 95 ES had the electronic speed sensor or something, and the first gen had a gear driven speedo.
    Or so goes my understanding.

            great! just my luck

I got some questions for my next trip to the JY:

How strong is the F series out of the 2nd gen 1.5L motor? It should be a stright bolt up, right?

Also, are the 3rd gen G (g35 etc) trannies compatible with the 2nd gen BP DOHC engine?

If a 92-94 Pro has a stick shift and a BP DOHC engine under the hood, does it mean it has the right G series for me even if the body doesn't show an "LX" badge? (none of them seem to have badges)

            Thanks guys

yeah if a 92-94 protege (not 323) has a Dohc under the hood, there is a 99% chance it has a G tranny.

His kia uses the 1st gen style rear mount.
If he has an F originally in his kia , he will need the 1st gen drivers side tranny mount also so the G will fit up.

na the kia 1.8 bp. He has the same model kia that I got one of my trannies out of. They have a 1st gen set up. The same lower crossmember and the same rear mount and front mount. It's not the same as the 2nd gens.

so what you guys are telling me that my 96 kia 1.8 is equivalent to a first gen in terms of chassis setup? is this is true, why wont first gen disc brakes fit my car? i got some rear disc brakes off a 92ish protege and spindles and everything. my shocks wouldnt bolt up to a 92's spindles.

I was running ~250 crank hp and 184 torque on my F series and it ran fine. HOw much power are you going for?

Well... that's reassuring. I'm not going for that much anytime soon (i think :D)
Btw, I have an auto right now (FA4A-EL) and the 96/97 1.8L Sephia comes stock with the G series. Only the 94/95 and 96/97 1.6L B6 Sephia comes with the F.

Guys, for an F or a G, whats the max milage I should bother with? Personally my preference is 60K or below but I can't find any cars like that. Keep in mind this tranny will have to withstand a LOT of beating, burnouts etc

                          Thanks amd keep em coming.....

Sorry to steal the post, but I'm getting confused (planning to do a swap)

Is the F tranny from the 1.5l the same thing as the F tranny from the 1.8l. I'm guessing no, but I'm not sure.
