I'm not really a big fan of fancy, big, weird-shaped gauge clusters... (My biggest gripe with the RX8). But besides that, th purple is just WAY too much.

red is not easier on the eyes than green, blue - maybe, but not read. you follow behind cars and their taillights are red, last thing i want to see is red on my dash, its annoying. the blue like in the vw is beautiful though.

but i still wish that mazda3 cluster was interchangeable with the protege

ummmm yeah red is easier on the eyes, its a proven fact, thats why most pontiacs use it, as well as military to persurve night vision.

no on my eyes! everybody i talked to hate red in the gauges.
and those who do like it, usually just like the red color, not because its easier on their eyes at night.

I think it looks tight. I think the speedometer is tricky seeing that it doesn't go all the way around. (Explain that to an officer next time you get pulled for going to fast)! :p: Otherwise it is different which is good. I never was a fan of orange lights like in my 3rd Gen, it reminds me too much of my old Pontiac Just my opinion though.

Man I love what did with it, especially the italian look. All Italian manufacturers, well at least most famous ones, have their cluster with needles pointing straight down, i.e. perpendicular to the road. Which would make me feel driving my 3 in the future like I am riding in Alfa Romeo, or a Maserati.

                              Gauges...

I prefer the old white gauges in the Protege.

I think they are trying to get too fancy with the gauges in the new model.
