Gulf Coast Region Autocross - April 25, 2004

I had a lot of fun at this event. I managed 2nd in STS this month, and 19th out of 85 PAX time wise. Finally, a trophy!

I think I could have managed a second or two faster after I got my tire pressures right for the weather but we only had five runs for the day.

Looks like quite an overgrown slab of parking lot/runway there. Someone should have entered a riding mower in A-Mod, he could be "Mow-io Andretti" Ba ha ha
2002.5 DX Sedan, Garnet Red Mica, PIAA Headlights, Racing Beat MP3 springs, Tokico HP struts, Injen CAI, MSP axle-back exhaust, MSP S.T. brace, Mod-o-fied AWR 19MM rear bar, AWR end-links F/R, 16x7 alloys w/Paradas(street), 15x6 Miata OEM alloys w/Falken Azenis(Solo II STS), personalized plates "VTC FREE"
I remember the days of racing when the the Drivers were Fat and the Tires were Skinny.

LOL, the track is not the best in the world, Jesse can attest to that. It's actually an old airfield runway that's been abandoned. The surface is not the greatest for tires, but one good thing is it's HUGE. Plenty of room to design some quite interesting tracks each month.

        Good results, man.
        There was another "Protoge"?

        Looks like an MP3.

I think it's just a 2003 ES in Laser Blue Mica. Regular spoiler, no rocker add-ons, no P5 front end. We use an old air force base here too in Central Calif (Castle AFB, Atwater Ca). They used to have 100's of B-52's parked there. Nat'l tour is here this weekend. Pro Solo was last weekend. Huge site, smooth as glass, but all concrete. Not nice to tires, and the Falkens get GREASY here. Happy autocrossing!

The color got me thinking it's an mp3.

Gotta love that color. I always liked it better than the orange MSP color Car & Driver called "Radio-Active Popsicle." (The Orange Mica). And besides, what's a "Mica" anyway? LOL

I'm gonna try to make it up Sunday to watch my occassional co-hort and racing friend run his silver P5 in STS, in which he will probably get spanked (P5 is just too heavy, face it, I guess the '89-01 Civic hatch is The Car To Have for STS). I think he knows you/knows of you. He used to race a 1st gen (actually an Escort, sorry for the "Blasphemy" in this forum by mentioning a Ford LOL). It's gonna be HOT (mid 90's they say). Happy racing!
