i noticed negatize has some sweet slotted rotors, which ones fit the 99 protege 1.6, or do all trim modles fit????

Yeah, Ben, brakes are very picky, because if one part is not right, none other will fit. After working a year in shop, I saw my manager find that out the hard way. The 99-00 DX/LX models had the small 9.3" rotors, instead of the 10.2" ones the ES model had. I bought my rotors/SS lines from Darryl's group buy a while back on the "evil forum". I think he can still get you some for a decent price (but not as low as what the group buy was at)
I paid $195 for two front cross-drilled/slotted rotors and Technafit steel-braided brake lines.
