The wheels i am going to buy today (maybe) are 17x7.5
i have a 2000 protege LX and i was wondering if im gonna run into ne rubbing problems. And if so is there a way to solve the rubbing issue

Depends on the offset on the wheel. You'll neet a +45 or maybe even higher. Do a search for "wheel fitment" for more information.

I have + 40 offset on my 16 inches and no rubbing. It depends on the tire size your getting.
