yes, you would have to get them custom ground
to extract the most from cams, you would definately need some cam gears, and some sort of programmable ECU where you could change your timing and fuel values
and then on top of that, you gotta worry about when the car jumps into closed loop
with mild cams, you could get away with a stock ecu... but to tune overlap, you'd need to independantly control the intake and exhaust cams.. which is important with aftermarket cams
which you cant do with the Z5... even with the adjustable cam GEAR thats made for it
cause the exhaust cam is driven off the intake cam with a chain
soooo... even with reground cams, you wouldnt be able to get that much power
then with regrinds, you have to tighten up any lash, and make your valvetrain that much heavier
sorry if im discouraging you, but if you want to get decent power out of a 1.5L... cams isnt the way, unless you're really good and could some how make the exhaust cam drive its own sprocket... thats definately outta my league and wallet
