110 octane will certainly do serious damage to the engine. DO NOT use it. I would not even use octance boosters you can buy off of the shelf in Autozone or anywhere else. Our engine was designed for 87, nothing else. 93 or 89 is good to use once in a great while, but certainly not 110.

I don't see how 110 could damage the engine. I know that the higher the ocatane the better your engine is to be less prone to detonate.
This is if you wanted to make use of the 110 octane though, you would have to advance your timing by like 8 degrees or so.
Otherwise it will just burn like regular gas.

But I tend to use 87 in the protege and the 323.
If the price of gas goes down, then I will advance the timing to 12 or 14 degree's and run special (89) or super (92) when I go to the track.

the 110 can do damage, there was a kid at school who used straight racing fuel without cutting it, pistons siezed and the crankshaft just got trashed. Raises engine temps drastically from what I understand and the seals expanded, causing everything to stop moving

isn't this the same gas that they sell at the track... Like drag tracks and so forth.

Also wouldn't you have to figure that the gas would mix with current gas already in the car.

1liter is 2.64 gallons. That is like a 1/4 tank or so.
bah! just give it to someone with a modified mustang.

                    110 octane is leaded

Edit: plus the Protege would barely be able to burn it, and it would just flood full of fuel

no, it wasn't from a track, the moron was running it on the street. His dad bought it for their muscle car i think

ohh ok , I am thinking it is the high octane gas that you see them selling at the drag track.

yeah, I overheard this guy talkin about how he messed up his car, wasn't actually part of the convo. But he put in a LOT of race fuel (didn't specify) without cutting it, which would lead me to believe he was running the tank pretty low. I think it was supposed to be 2 parts street gas to 1 part race (whatever he was putting in).
