    Walbro 255lph fuel pump

Here they have listed a 255lph 'regular' and 'high-pressure' fuel pump.

Which one should I get for turbo applications?

It looks like the high-pressure one is just designed to work at really high pressures (>80psi) which I'm not sure I'll go to. If I get the high-pressure one is there any disadvantage?

    Sorry for the n00b question
Edit: And will I need an FPR with the GTX ECU?

I threw in the high pressure one FMP003 and it works like a charm.

Does someone know if a FPR is needed because I am interested in finding out. I know that it is a 'must' if one does not have the GTX Ecu, but what if you have it......???

I have a GTR motor and GTR ecu in my car and I run the stock fpr so I don't see why it wouldn't work for a GTX with a GTX ecu.

You only need it if you do not have the GTX ECU like me.

True it may be two different modules, but Marcin is running the same pump with his GTX motor.

I got another fuel pump related question. Can a 2nd generation rx-7 fuel pump be used instead of the Walbro or is it just 3rd gen rx-7 pumps that are interchangable with the Protege? Turbo or non-turbo rx-7's ?

The High pressure kit is only needed when you plan on raising fuel pressure up over 80psi (like people who don't use management)

I've run the low pressure kit in all of my turbo cars and thats the only one I generally sell. Theres no need for the HP pump unless you plan on using an FMU to go overkill on the injectors.

The GT-R, GT-X, and LX FPR and Fuel rail are the exact same across the board. The FPR offers a 1:1 ratio for upping fuel pressure. The ECU controls how much air the solenoid allows to bleed off or let in to change Fuel Pressure.

Thanks for the solid info, very helpful.

I didn't think that the fuel system would run anything anywhere near higher than 80psi, which is all the chart really shows it doing.

sorry if i missed it in any of these posts, but is there any disadvantage of getting a high pressure pump and not getting any management?
