    AWD 3rd gen?

OK, I've searched the board, the faq, and google and come up with nothing (at least not in English). Is there an AWD 3rd gen Familia or 323 (BJ chassis, I guess the generation is different)? If so, how much of the drivetrain/floor pan does it share with the US 3rd gen? Basically, how possible is an AWD conversion?

They made an AWD Sport20 for sure. Caretaker on this forum has one IIRC.

From just seeing the pictures of the rear suspension, you'd need a whole lotta new stuff. I'm assuming the floorpans are the same. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Wasn't the sport20 just the 5-door though? Or does it matter?

Also, check out this thread for a lot of information from someone who's already working on it.

Yes, the Sport20 was only in wagon form. As far as putting it on a sedan, there shouldn't be any forseen problems. The suspensions are the same.

Just import an AWD from Japan and learn to drive from the passenger seat!

why cant mazda bring the good stuff to the good ol' US?

now that we have the mazda3 they should think about producing an AWD 3 hatch?

and that project sounfds too painful, moneywise
