what do you guys think the cut off is? like the max psi without intercooler? regaurdless, im getting one, dad was wondering. the turbo's wastegate is set at 9psi and is relatively small.

i would not run 9psi on a non intercooler setup, but thats me, unless of course you hate your car, i would not run a turbo period with out one, but i like to be safe.

yeah, iknow, 9psi is way too high without a ic. im just trying to show him that it is important in a turbo setup. you have to keep that stuff cool

it seriously all depends, if its the vj20 lol, thing is a wicked heat pump it NEEDs to be intercooled!

anybody know the max size fmic that would fit on a 2nd gen, i got the erbuni body kit too and it goes back pretty far, so it looks like a small one would do

it all depends on tuning. You can run without an intercooler, but then you have to keep your eye on the exhaust temp and so forth. It's not a slap on and go or idiot proof thing. You have to tune the car to run in this manner.
