is the cheapest way to turbocharge...

to buy the jdm motor from corksport? thats around 1400-1500$ shipped so that seems cheapest right?

Maybe, does it come with the ECU and Harness?? I once added up all the costs of parts to make my own custom turbo, and with an EMS, I was up to like 1200. And I wouldnt have had to pay labor.
    Eat ****.

find a 88-89 323 gt-x or gt, they both have the 1.6 dohc turbo (b6t) in the nearest u-pull-it yard

I believe you will need one mount from it

it would be best if you used the trany from a dohc pro, escort gt, or any other car that came with the doch BP
If you don't like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalk

You can if you try to make your own manifold and use j/y parts for the IC, BOV, and turbo.

Does anyone know how much just the GTX ECU and harness run? I dont know if I have ever seen them for sell just the ECU and harness.

oh yeah so far for my turbo set-up I have: IHI RHB5 turbo (T-bird turbo w/ T3 flange), 1st gen DSM BOV, "25X8X3 Core size FMIC, Boost gauge, and a tubular Turbo Manifold (was made for a 2nd gen KIA BP, ports match up but bolt holes dont. Still contemplating on wether or not im gonna use it). Even if I dont use that manifold I am gonna try and make my own (even if it isn't the best or prettiest one made it is still more than nothing and will cost less than $30 for the materials.

SO far I have spent exactly $0 on my turbo project. Are you good at doing anything? Usually you can find people with stuff that will trade for some quality labor. I actuall had the IHI VJ-11 too but sold that because it had bad seals. I wish I kept it then I could have put the T-bird compressor on it.

All I am going to try and pay out of my pocket for is
Turbo Manifold (if I cant make one on my own)
              IC pipes
              EMS

I dont plan on running big boost yet until I can get everything done the "right" way. I'm gonna try and run 4-5 pounds and save up for the EMS, better manifold, BIGGER turbo, etc...

Whats the point of o rdering the BPT if you allready have the BP? The BP is plenty strong enough. You will still need everything except the Turbo and Manifold. You will basically be paying $950 + shipping for a manifold and a turbo....

...and an ECU + harness, 330cc injectors, better intake manifold, turbo cams, etc.
If you can find all that for under $1K then by all means do that instead, but it's very unlikely.

I dunno, I'm always wary of when people say, "the cheapest way to..." You're going to find out nothing is the cheapest...

Don't forget that you'll need a lot more than just the turbo motor for a good, reliable turbo setup. As Charles already said, it will not be cheap.
