You want to use high temp paint, don't use regular paint -- the calipers get hot. The engine paint they sell at wallmart or auto zone should work just fine, that's what i used. It's like $3 - $4 a can.

Like it was stated before, they sell a specific paint for the calipers that is rated 900 degrees, so that right there says you should go with paint 900 or more degree rateing....

You def need high heat paint. I think the diff between the expensive caliper paint and high heat engine paint is mainly the finish... the 1200f engine paint won't look as shiny as the real caliper paint. hence the price diff.

I used caliper paint that I bought for about $7 a can. Have had the calipers painted for about 2 years now and the finish hasn't faded at all. I think it's made by Plasticote, which you should be able to buy at your local Autozone or Pepboys.

The G2 system is a complete kit containing the paint, brake cleaner spray, mixing cup and stirrer and an application brush. That's one of the reasons it's more expensive than the other alternatives.

Why the **** do you need paint thats good for 900 or 1200 degrees??
Most brake fluid boils at way less than 900.
****, we're not driving down the Mulsanne straightaway at 200+ MPH and then braking hard for a corner here people.....
You really think people are gonna say H3Y Th0s3 c4l1p3r5 l00k m4d tyt3 y0 when you've boiled your brake fluid and are heading towards a cliff and can't stop??

Let's look at some popular brake fluids and their boiling points:

                              ______________Fluid_____DRY___WET
                              Castrol LMA DOT 3/4_____446 311
Ford Heavy Duty DOT 3___550 290
                              ATE Super Blue Racing____536 392
                              ATE TYP 200____________536 392
                              Motul Racing 600_________585 421
                              Castrol SRF______________590 518
                              Performance Friction_______550 284
All numbers are in degrees Farenheit

So you see, your brake fluid will have boiled and you'll have crashed long before your calipers get hot enough to necessitate the use of 900 degree paint.
Face it, driving on the street your calipers aren't going to get that hot.
Probably not even with heavy duty auto-x will they get that hot, and even if they do, you're driving at one for what 90 seconds tops??
