You could probably get one from a Familia/323 in the Asian markets. Even some of the 3rd gen's had the same storage tray/bin you're talking about.

In Canada the 95 dx model had a storage area instead of an air bag . I believe if the car came with 13 in wheels it had the storage with 14 in came an air bag thats how I could tell them apart.

hey is there any chance you could call a junk yard and see if they have a black or gray storage unit? or is there a canadian website that i could go to source one from a junk yard?

Next time I'll be at the junk yard I'll check this out. As far as I know most of the junkyards won't give you any information about such a small thing. Usually they tell to go and check it yourself
Anyway, if you got some time you can go to yellowpages.ca and call them to see if they have one. If they will be in Niagara area , i can pick it up . and if you gona call them , can you ask for intermitant switch for 2nd gen ?

Found it. This was posted to me by "TheMAN"

on models originally made without the airbags equiped, a secondary glove compartment is installed in the hole where the passenger airbag is

                    the part numbers are:
                    BC5E-64-140A-xx lid
                    B01B-64-090C-xx lock
                    BC5E-64-141 inner lid
B092-64-046 rubber stopper feet (need 8)
                    9973-90-410B screw (need 8)
                    B01A-64-06XA hinge
W201-64-999 screw (not sure how many needed, but at least a dozen)
                    9986-50-412B screw (need 4)
                    BC5E-64-14Y upper glove box

where "xx" means color code... 09=dark gray (BJ3 interior code), 90=brown (BJ1 interior code)

these parts are NOT available in the USA (because all US models had airbags), not sure about Canada... these part numbers are for the European spec early 2nd gen... contact an importer if you want to get those parts... little parts such as the screws can be ordered at a local dealership

don't complain about the price, since it's all new (imported) parts and it's a lot of crap... but that's one way of making your car look nice inside and have it functional
