    Door Moulding Removal Problem

Today i shaved the door moulding off of my 03 ES, which was a breeze. The problem came when i noticed a "halo" on certain parts of my car (passenger side front door and driver side fender). I tried getting rid of it with some lighter fluid and later some cleaner wax with a good bit of elbow grease, but nothing seemed to get rid of it. I can barely feel it when i run my finger over it, but im not sure what to do now - it looks awful. Anyone run into this before or have any suggestions?

There seems to be an epidemic in MI, everyone seems to think that painting your car isn't cool anymore, and people drive around with more primer than paint. What is the world coming to?

Yup I had the same problem.
It looks like an outline of the moldings right, I just washed mine and it seemed to have come off. I think its just an accumulation of waxes and stuff that we never took off the car, or maybe raised paint.

    I cant see mine anymore.

Id suggest giving the car a good wash n wax. It will probably fix it. Good luck.

Alright, I gave it a good wash, nothing really changed. After looking at it more, it almost looks like they repainted part of the car with the moulding on. I took some heavy cut rubbing compound and finally got some progress, but i don't want to ruin my clearcoat. I think I'm going to steal the clay bar from my dad and try that.

wait how do you have a clear coat?
Pros use a one step paint.

Clay bar should work wonders(removes overspray) this should work nice.
I know for a fact that they did repaint that part of my car, with the moldings on.

Try a clay bar, it should work.
