brake petal adjustment or booster going to ****?

    Hi,

I recently put on new brake pads, rotors and new shoes in back.. on my 94.

I bled my brakes and my fluid is crystal clear.

I'm still getting about 2 inches of petal down before I can feel any breaking. Do you think my booster is going to ****? Do you think my petal need to be tightened or adjusted. My brakes work fine otherwise.

    thx

    Did you adjust the rears?
You mgiht have gotten some air in the lines. Does the pedal "pump up"?
Like you press it several times and it gets stiffer?
That usually indicates air in the lines.
An Excessively stiff pedal would be a bad brake booster.

sounds like air in the lines. The best way to bleed brakes that i found was to use a med. size jar fill it with a little brake fluid and get a small vacuum hose and put it on the bleeder and put the other end of the hose in the jar of fluid slowly pump the brake pedal, works best when someone can watch and tell you when air has stopped coming out of the vacuum hose. Works great.
