I had a Check Engine Light a while ago. Went to the dealership, they said $270 to replace the first O2 (oxygen) sensor, as the heater on it went bad. I said I would look into it. I found the part from Mazdaformance.com where a guy quoted $127 for it. I ordered it, put it in myself, since it's right on the front of the car through a hole in the heat shield (though I had to remove the assembly with all the spark plug wires to get the heat shield out of the way).
Much cheaper fix, and I went to Autozone to clear the CEL for free (so I don't have to do the battery disconnect reset and lose all radio settings).
I'd say a %50 difference in price is better.
Btw, the Autozone dude said a P1135 (sometimes called a Dianostic Trouble Code or DTC) is an air/fuel ratio thing and said that tightening my fuel cap was the fix. He was wrong. Anything over 1000 in the code system could be unique to the manufacturer. I couldn't find a Mazda specific listing anywhere that included P1135, unfortunately. Hopefully this will help someone.
