    bigger alternator

im not really sure how this works, do they make car specific alternators, or is there just a size that the 2nd gen protege uses?

whatever the case, which would be a good one to get as a replacement that is stronger than stock?

they don't make any higher output alternators for our cars. they don't actually make them bigger, they just make em to deliver more amps. just send it off to any alt. shop and they can "rewire" it to deliver a higher amperage.

You may run into problems though. The ECU might get along with the new alt. I've heard of 3rd gen people having all sorts of problems because of their new alternators.
