    '90 LX and '90 323 FS (56k nono)

    1990 Mazda 323 - $500 firm

    Features:
    - 1.6l SOHC, leaks a little oil (~1 qt every 3000 miles)
    - 5 spd, shifts well, no grinds. Clutch seems good, no slippage.
    - Rear exhaust piping replaced 2 months ago.
    - 130xxx miles, runs good
    - Tune up less than 5000 ago (plugs, wires, etc.), front brake pads done at the same time.
    - Brand new lowering springs and struts (“Eibach pro kit” springs, Tokico ZX2 struts), less than 5000 miles ago, replaced thrust bearing at the same time.
    - Alternator replaced 6 months ago (bought from Autozone)
    - Front bucket seats from Mazda MX3 GS, gauge cluster from Protégé LX (for a tachometer), center console from Protégé LX.
    - Driving lights added with a factory escort gt foglight switch.

    Needs:
    - Front driver side wheel bearing
    - New alternator mount bolt, current one is stripped (Accessory belt squeals sometimes, needs tightened, alternator vibrates a little because it seems a bit lose. The belt-tension is controlled by the alternator mounting)

    Quirks:
    - No CD player/radio
    - Seat adjustments broken (only needs small cable/wire on the bottom of the seats to work)
    - Some interior pieces loose
    - Horn doesn’t work, unplugged at the wheel.
    - Door dings normal for a 15 year old car
    - Two minor dents
    - Crappy paint
    - Hatch lock is tricky.
    - Rear defroster never worked

    ------------------------------------

    1990 Mazda Protégé LX - $800 firm

    Features:
    - 1.8l DOHC, burns a little oil (normal for mazda), very smooth
    - 5 spd, shifts well, no grinds. Clutch seems good, no slippage. Driver and passenger drive axles replaced 6 months ago.
    - All exhaust replaced (exception being the catalytic converter and muffler) within the past 10 months.
    - 165xxx miles, runs great
    - Power windows, power sunroof (no leaks), power door locks, AC (still works great), cruise control.
    - 17”x7” Konig Helium wheels (15.2lbs) and Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires have less than 5000 miles on them, bought new in ’03 for ~$1000

    Needs:
    - Rear exhaust reconnected to the catalytic converter (extremely loud)
    - E-brake re-adjusted
    - Possibly needs thermostat? (Takes a while to warm up in the winter)

    Quirks:
    - Speakers in door from previous owner are deeper than stock, front windows won’t go down all the way. Rear speakers from previous owner aren’t securely mounted in the rear deck, though mostly stay in place.
    - Door dings normal for a 15 year old car
    - Small dent in the hood from someone sitting on it.
    - Minor surface rust in a few areas (hard to notice)

    ----------------------------

    Package Deal: $1000
These are my 'friend' prices, I'm already taking it unlubed as it is, so I will not budge from these prices. You could probably easily sell the rims and tires for $400 themselves, the one is curbed slightly, but other than that they are in great shape. Two of the tires are slightly lower in tread because the 323 was misaligned when it had them on. The protege was aligned with these wheels on at the best local alignment place (does it old-fashioned way), and I haven't had any problems.

This would be a great opportunity for a 323 BP swap, or if you just need a reliable daily beater. Both cars run great, just need minor mechanical work [edit1]and cosmetic work.

Also of note, the 323 is out of inspection, though should pass with little work. The protege is inspected until august or september, I don't remember.[/edit1]

Here are some random pics I could find on my website, I can post more if requested.

323 when it had the rims on, before springs and struts

Thought I had more pics of the 323 on my site, but I guess not.

According to my Anger Management Counselor, after 26 weeks of anger management class, I should be an expert when it comes to Anger Management...tell that to the guy who threw a starburst at my car in rush hour traffic...haha

Yea, I've always been the type to take a hit on selling stuff, I don't really see it as a loss, I got more than my money's worth out of both cars, they were ultra-reliable. I just want to get a fair price for myself, so I can replace the bike that I wrecked, hehehe... A friend of mine has one waiting for me, I just need to come up with the rest of the dough for the bike and the gear that I'll need again.

I'm selling them because I got a newer car, and I don't have the time or money to fix them up and keep them insured. Though, I did see a newer person on the board with an ultra-hot BP 323 and it made me think twice, but I don't have the time, patience, money, or location to do a BP swap into the 323 and then think about fixing it up. It's a pity, really

I'm hoping to start saving money for a house, so maybe then I"ll have the room to spare, but that's a ways down the road, me thinks

Thanks for the interest in these guys, I'd like to get them moved asap while there is still riding time left! hehehe

Rims included with the protege, that's what they are on right now. There is a flat on the protege stock rims, and I'm not going to get a new tire put on.

323 has two small dents, one on the passenger front fender from someone who kicked it (long story), and there is one behind the driver-side rear window. It's kind of hard to notice, though.

I haven't really noticed any surface rust on the body, so none that I can think of. The paint sucks hard, though.

[edit]I'll take more pics of the 323 today when I get home, I have to take a pic of the exhaust on the protege anyway[/edit]

Short version: I was going around a turn too fast, got out in the gravel, couldn't make the turn, gravel took me into a ditch, bike and I hit ditch, I went flying over the bars, bike flipped back onto the road, I landed on the side of the road in a foresty-type area, unearthed a large rock with my torso, and luckily missed all the trees (or I would have likely been dead). The EMTs guesstimated I landed 100-150 feet from where the bike hit the bank. Luckily I was released from the hospital later that day with just back pain and abraisions.

Here are the pics I have promised of each car, let me knwo if you want more specific pictures, I can take them.
