when y ou take the stut off the assembly and its the bare strut, there is a silver plate at the top of the black body, i was wondering if it keeps all the fluid in or is that there for ****s and giggles?

i have no clue what the hell your saying,...your spring wont slide down far enough to seat on the strut properly. never seen it, and i wouldnt go air hammering anything off of the strut body..thurs alot of pressure in that thing.

I'm not sure but is this what you mean by a strut? Please let me know if I'm correct.

ok, there is the bare strut. no spring, top, ne thing. from the top of the strut go down that shaft(lol) to the main part of the strut. on top of the main part of the stut is a silver plate/cap thinger. my friend suggested that i impact hammer it off, I dont think I should be because like VTEC said, there is a lot of pressure in there and I dont want all the juice to come out and ruin the strut. any comments welcome!!! sorry for being a ass im just so frustrated!!!
