    PLEASE READ: The point of this subforum

    The point of this subforum is to look into and explain the intricacies of engine management and tuning in a scientific, no nonsense environment. This is not specifically meant to help people with installing engine management systems, although that will certainly be allowed. However, it is aimed at helping people make well informed tuning decisions for their cars, whether it's choosing how and where to mount cold air intakes, what it means to adjust ignition timing, or anything all the way up to completely going standalone.

    Please do not spout garbage like "lean means death!" or anything like that without having good reasons to back up your statements. It doesn't add anything to the conversation and invariably ends up confusing people, which is exactly what this subforum is trying not to do

    If you have one pulled on you, don't feel bad. The vast majority of the car enthusiast circle really doesn't know what they're talking about when it comes to the actual chemistry and physics of engines, so you would not be alone.

    That said, if you actually DO know what you're talking about, or don't, admit it, and would like to learn more, welcome. Let's have some good discussions.
