    ????

aight well i had some issues with the car all my oil was dummmping out my breather on my valvl covers next to the intake piping so i parked my protege and orderd me a oil catch can.

oil can got here i instaled it turned the car let it idle to warm then noticed white smoke coming out my tail pipe and then i look at the can and smoke is coming out the catch can breather so i turn the car off check the oil and theirs no crystalization so its not a blown headgasket

i noticed while the car was parked i had a small oil leak so i checked it out and it seems to be comming from the oil return line so today im going and buying all new hoses, going to do a compression test etc to figure this out

i read somewhere that it me be the valve seals??? or rear main seal etc
and was wondering if this was even possible since i have only 9800 miles on a rebuilt motor/head/trans etc

the only thing i could think of is that i installed some copper plugs before the car got parked and mayb when i started it up one of the plugs fouled out???? and thats the reason for the smoke from the tail pipe???

well any info would be good, now im off to pull the plugs check for fouling then a compression test etc etc any help or advice would be apperciated just want to try and pin point my issues im having before i go spending money trying to fix it

    thanx cp

Just cuz there's no crystalization don't mean it ain't a blown headgasket
    White smoke, or white steam?

well i think its smoke out the tail pipe and the catchcan. but smoke is coming out the tail pipe before warming up just idleing and once warm its still steaming / smoking

just got back from the store so now im off to check everything but from doing some reading/research it could be a couple things valve seals worn out, blown turbo seals/gaskets,piston rings etc

i just hope its cause of n/a cams for the blowby i think its called and a faulty oil return line for the oil leakage and for the smoking

if i see something that did not used to happen, like smoke or oil from the valve cover, i will think something is wrong! it was fine and now it is not!

same thing happened to my buddies honda on his freshly rebuilt motor. the rings didnt seal and smoke was coming from the catch can and exhaust just like you are saying.

aight finally had the time to do the compression test and have some bad news cylinder one is at 180 cylinder, 2 or the one right next to 1 lol is at 170 but when i pulled the plug i had steam/smoke coming out, cylinder 3 is at 90 found my problem i thinks, and 4 is at 180

so now im off to source me some piston rings and even mayb new pistons and going to start to deassemble the engine

if any one would have a guess as to why i had steam/smoke coming out of cylinder 2 and cylinder 2 is at 170 compression??? would be appreciated
