Is there really a future for CP?

I'm seriously wondering if there is actually a future for this forum. The facebook group is a dumpster fire. It's full of idiots and people that have no clue about what they are talking about. I ask a question I hope to get an answer based on fact not opinion. I don't give a **** about opinions. It is so sad that a great forum like this has been destroyed by facebook. seeing as the facebook page swallows loads and is mostly a for sale section, can we turn it into a swap meet and get back to the forum?

    I'm buying parts i don't need, With money I don't have, To impress people I don't know.

Some people are like slinkies. They're not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Not much going on here these day but I check in daily as well. I shall continue to stay the **** away from the fb ****show.

'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

When i shut down my FB account for a few months i transfered admin status to other people. I can't shut it down even if i wanted. IMHO if it was shutdown someone would just create a similarish group.

CP will stay around for the definitive future. altho activity has significantly dwindled. I check the new posts daily just to chime in or see what people are into. sadly but honestly i haven't done much of anything with either of my BG's lately. sold my P5 (good riddance.)
At the end of the day I'll keep the site up as long as people feel it has value.

Interesting to see, we have the same problem with FB in germany. Activity in the forum dropped drastically and content on FB is crap really.
But: recently it seems people seem to realize that and try to provide more content for the forum again, so maybe something similar might happen here: people who really care about the content will keep the forum alive, maybe with a reduced pace but still...

I've never really posted much, but even I still check the new posts every few days.

I check the new posts every so often and I try to keep the BH section alive, but not much is going on with the car at the moment so I haven't posted much.

I post as often as possible to keep things fresh and also updated on my BF cars. I would hate to see this forum decline like the original BF forum from back in the day.

I hardly ever check in here. Mostly because I do sales on all the facebook groups. It’s also far easier to post pictures of things so I stick with it. I have just chose to stay out of discussions and drama posts and only focus on my own stuff in the various Facebook groups.

Well, I find it quite comforting to look at some of the names I see on here and see that they are still kicking around... I got carried away from here for many personal reasons, namely to fight the big "C" for one, but I am back now and will continue to check the joint out...Almost every name on this thread, (sorry HMT...lol) I recognize from years back... it's like slipping on the old moccasins...lol...I'm going to need you guys real soon...
Ryan, Happy birthday to you, I see you're in Australia now... so jealous!!!

                        Still checking CP almost daily.

Love to see the people showing progress on their projects. FB is nice for quick questions but nothing like a forum.

Forums and FB are totally different systems and really one can't fully replace the other.

FB is great for little updates, showing off photos, or asking question. It is also really good for quick sales.

It sucks for build threads, searching for answers to questions and long term storage of knowledge. Also it sucks in the sense there is no way to really filters information, aka no sub folders. So you can't have large groups similar to a forum and easily have sub groups.

With the rise of newer generations, forums are going to decline but I feel like they will always have a place, but the era of forums as king has come to an end. I feel like forums are similar to libraries. Most "kids" feel like they are useless only cause they have never really seen what they can get out of them. :D

I agree ... there is an awesome database on this site ... you can search to find pertinent info. You can’t fine anything old on social media. Only current opinions and quick fixes ... oh ... and dumb questions ... lol ...

Love the CP ... Even thought I haven't been posting on my car threads much.
Still look into CP to see what's been going on, still have a good collection of BG's 😜

Lack of $ to complete the projects I have started and more critical has been my health.
Major open heart surgery has slowed me down.

CP will always be the go to source for general info and car part buy and sell.
