    B8: piston to head clearance

Anyone have a factory service manual, or can actually take measurements of the piston crown height vs. the head with a compressed oem headgasket?

    Thanks

I found the piston-to-cylinder clearance, not sure if that's what you want. Per 1992 FSM

    Standard 0.039mm-0.052mm
    Maximum 0.15mm

Edit: Or would that be the distance between the piston and cylinder walls? Sorry, I don't know all these terms... haven't taken apart an engine yet

      no problem, thanks Charles!

I emailed Vaughn, and he replied back between .080 and .100.

if we have the time, we're gonna shave the head .040 to bump compression and reduce the squish height in order to make it more knock resistant.
