Headlights Not Working (Big Problem)

I'm working with a 2002 Protege 5 and the headlights have simply quit working.

Here's the story,

A. Right headlight goes out ONLY
B. I checked fuses (OK) and replaced the bulbs.
C. No change
D. Left Headlight goes out a couple days later
E. Rechecked fuses (OK) and Bulbs are still only a couple weeks old.
F. Brights and Foglights unaffected

What's the next step here

Is the next step going to Mazda (with I'm out of warranty--YEA)?

Dude go get it checked out, or just piss people off using your brights all the time at night
