your doing something wrong then. the pgt trans is the same trans as a mx3 v6 trans. you have another issue. possibly the C clip.

Quick question on the speedo deal. I got a 323 swapped with klde, mx3 mtx. Now do I use the speedo from the f-series bg trans or g-series bg trans? And do I need to swap the cable also? Reason I ask is I installed a g-series speedo in the trans and the speedo would just bounce around, and shortly after the speedo gear broke off in the trans, jamming up the tranny. Just wana clarify, so I can go junkyard hunting.

I've been using an f series one in my swaps. I'd think a g series would work fine too, sounds like you had a dud.

Mx3 V6 GS Cross Member (probe-mx6-626 one wont fit)

Mx3 V6 GS Engine/tranny mounts ( u really dont need all of them, u really just need the passenger side, but it makes the swap process easier with the mounts already on the motor)

                  i got three questions.

                  1. my 323 doesnt have power steering would i run a shorter belt?

                  2. the cross member that runs up n down that has the transmission mounts right?

                  3. as far as engine mounts do i need certain brackets for the mounts to fit a kl into my 92 323? i got the two bottoms besides the top transmission mount or bracket one, i didnt get the passenger mount or bracket either from a mx3 gs at the junkyard.

                  4. do i need the mx3 front control arms?

ive gotten alot of mixed answers on the last 2 questions so im not even sure now. i understand i need the mx3 axles but read around the kia sephia 1.8 will work?

im new to the 323 the current engine runs good so for now ill be trying to gather parts so one day i can do the swap.

Yes get the pass side mount and brackets. I didnt and what a pita lol, I used the mx3 lca, again same as u, mixed answers on the axles so I used mx3 just to be safe. The cross member is the one going front to back under the trans. And u may just have to gut the p/s pump and use it. The pump belt runs the water pump, and u wont have any way to tension the belt without the p/s pump.

Is the engine mount bracket the same? it looks very identical to the 323 one. I may just get the mount n axles new. And yea i found the thread on gutting the p/s pump. Thanks for the info tho! Its all pretty clear now. Just gonna gather the parts n daily drive the 323 for the meantime.

the body side mount bracket is wider on the mx3. i bought a new mount and had to grind it down to make it fit in the 323 bracket

Like i said in your PM on the other site: Anything related to the mounts at all, you want from an MX3. All of it. Don't pick and choose, it'll just make things annoying.

Yea ima try to go to the junkyard get those last two mounts i didnt get. Hopefully it will still be there. If not ill have to find a part out. As far as axles i may just buy those new as well since it is gonna be a while till i swap it. The car runs amazing and has cold ac! lol

Again one more question about the speedo. I have the engine and trans out (again) and I have a bp g-series gear and im test fitting it into the trans and I find that the speedo gear is not centered on the speedo. I find that when I install it depending on clocking it will either go in loose andntight. So I can install it with the tab facing the pass side and as I turn it clockwise it get tighter. Now im wondering if thats what broke the gear not having it clocked right. If someone would be so kind as to take a pic of the gear installed, so I can clock mine in the correct orientation not to break it again.
