    Weird O2 sensor wiring problem!

I am in the middle of installing a 4-wire O2 sensor and an A/F gauge on my BPT. I have done all the reasearch and I am sure all the wires are connected properly.

Here's the problem: If I connect the gauge directly to the sensor it gives me a proper reading of 0.7V-0.9V depending on temperature. Now, whenever I connect the O2 sensor wire that goes to the ECU (Blue/Red stripe for GTR), the Voltage drops to -0.03V and the A/F gauge stops working completely! Any ideas?

tap it @ the sensor, instead of @ the ecu???

Yes, but the signal from the sensor has to get to the ecu!

yes it does but he said tap not disconnect. just use a vampire tap and call it good. i did all my taps right off the ecu for my stuff its easier and cleaner looking.

phone wire taps work great too, and they have that anti corrosive gel on the inside so moisture and other crap cant get to the wire.

u man self tapping terminals like this?

thats what i used for my a/f....just tapped the rear-cylinder bank O2 sensor signal wire with on of thse and ran the wire to the gauge through the dash....cleaner & less-failure prone than doing it from the engine bay

Haven't fixed it yet. I have been too busy with school but I did find out that the signal wire has a shield wire as well. That gives me a few ideas to try...
