Main Fuse 80A Keeps Blowing Up..

As I reconnect my battery.. positive, negative.. the 80A main fuse blows up..

Now do I have to connect the battery properly, then unbolt the fuse and change the fuse, WHILE the battery is connected?

Or is it a short somewhere..

I would un-hook the power, then connect the fuse, then re-connect the power.... you dont want to have the fuse blow in your hand. Not to say that it will maim your hand or anything, its just to be safe.

If it keeps blowing its a safe bet that you have a short somewhere.
