    rotor rusted to hub..

Ive spent 3 hours, 1 1/2 cans of liquid wrench and other various rust sprays (let set overnight) and a whole lotta swear words but the rotor will not come off.
Both sides (driver&p/side) are siezed to the hub.

Im basicaly looking for suggestions/past experiences with such a problem before I start with the largest hammer I have and possibly destroy the damn thing for the satisfaction.

I need to get them turned, but if I end up beating them into submission Ill just get some new ones, but they gotta come off 1st.

Yes, Ive taken the caliper off in case anyone felt they may need to ask.

    Ive tryed;
large flathead and prybar, propane torch,(light heat away from the center near bearing, mostly around outside of rotor hat), size 12 1/2 with hard kick, everything.

    Thanks guys..

You could try a slide hammer.

Out of curiousity, why wouldn't you just replace the rotors? After all the effort you have gone thru, it sounds like it would've been a better idea to just beat them off with a hammer and replace them.

Theres really not much room to get a good smack with the hammer..they're really on there good. I dont wanna go swinging the hammer like a wild man and they not even come off then be stuck at home with some bent an dinged up rotors

my buddy has a slide hammer, Ill see what I can do with it..

I finally gave up and took the entire spindle off. Then went wildman on them. after about an hour of beating on them they finally came off.

Usually the best way to remove a rotor is exactly TO hit it with a hammer. Soak it with some sort of penetrant, and bang on the hub area of the rotor. It's easy to hit the studs, but just whack it hard a few good times, they will come off. Similar idea with drums

If you can find a socket big enough to fit around the hub, where the rotor meets the hub, than you can user a BFH to try and break it loose.

Yup, that's how I do it too. You don't even have to hit them from the inside. Just by whacking the outside they break free.

Antisieze the hub and you'll never have a problem getting the rotors off again.

another option for removing stuck rotors is a large gear/pulley puller. i had to use one of these to get the rotors off of my friends saturn (i was doing the brakes for her). even a sledge hammer did nothing... we ended up needing a pipe on the ratchet to crank down on the gear puller. it ended up CRACKING both rotors. we had to crank down on it till it cracked off a piece, then put it back on... etc. the rotors finally came off in about 5 pieces each... not a fun time. then she wrecked the car like 2 weeks later so all our work was in vain.

Propane torch... lots of heat For Melissa's protege I had to hold a torch on it while swinging a 2.5lb sledge like a madman. Only took about 10 minutes of torching/hammering per rotor to get them off. On the other hand when I take the caliper off my car the rotor will practically fall off into your hand The difference between Boston and Georgia cars

You know that empty screw hole on the rotor? Stick a M8 x 60 bolt in it and tighten. I beat on my rotors for about 10 minutes on saturday until I realized what the screw hole is for. It took about half a turn of the bolt to pop the rotor off.

Yeah, I was going to say that but you beat me to it. That's how we got the front rotors off of the Protege and more recently the Miata. Works great, just put in the right bolt, use an impact, and it pops them off pretty quickly.

Then just use a grinder wheel and polish out the backside of the rotor(if you are putting it back on the car, after turning them, for instance) and the face of the hub, add grease, and you won't have that problem again.
