AWR makes more than sway bars for our cars.

They have adjustable front and non-adjustable rear strut mounts, and strut bars too.

AWR is dedicated to building high quality performance parts for race winning cars, specializing in fabrication, chassis design and building. composite design and forming, aluminum and steel coach work, high performance radiators, racing, race track support, race car retrofitting. Builder of Formula Atlantic rotary engine conversion, Mazda performance parts, Speed World Challenge proteges.

Rear strut mounts are kinda pricey at $199.50/pair for the rears.
High performance motor, engine, and transmission mounts for Mazda and Ford.

Front strut mounts can add up to 2 degrees of camber and cost $125/pair.
High performance motor, engine, and transmission mounts for Mazda and Ford.

Strut bars are $139 for polished aluminum, and $295 for caborn fiber.

          Gmax progressive lowering springs part# 30MA02 lower 1.5" front/rear

          PI lowering springs part# 40-123 (40mm (1.575") drop front/rear)

          Avo lowering springs part# AV-50-008 (40mm drop)

There are a bunch of others that can be found at the last website. I think all of them are made for the Lantis but they're supposed to be interchangeable with the BHA Protege.

Sadly, none of those are available in the US.

I know this might be a newbie question but does any of the 3rd gen suspension interchange with the 2nd gen?

I know lowering springs and part numbers are listed here but does anyone actually have the year interchange for the protege. I know spring rates differ between year but do they actually match up between all gens?

they don't interchange from gen to gen, speaking in u.s. specs.

now what i'm trying to determine is, is that:

can a 1st/3rd-gen strut bolt on to a 2nd gen? i would be using coilovers anway.
because i know the spring perch is going to be different.

No one knows. Only way to find out is if you take a strut from a 1st/3rd gen at the junkyard and try installing it on your car.

According to their site BC Racing makes coilovers: www.bcec.com.tw
BC Racing reportedly makes the coilovers for Megan Racing and the low end Apexi ExV series. So Megan Racing should be able to get them.

And here's another link to some kyb performance struts, stainless brake lines and MS springs...

anyone think that these will work? it shouldn't drop it too low where my wheels rub my wheel well if i'm on 14s right?

                            #28
rubbing matters, but if you have the correct offset of your wheels, there s/b no problem.

dood have you even seen how much of a gap there is on your car? if you lower 3" or more they wheels/tires might rub, but that depends on your offset, like i said.

the 1.8 and 1.7 drop is not going to hurt anything, assuming you have the correct offset and tire size.

btw, use some common sense. you could go outside and easily measure the gap on your car. and figure if the 1.7/1.8 drop is going to hurt or not in your situation. and of course they're going to work-the goldlines.
