    Wheel Offset

    Hello,

I was curious, what is the normal offset for the protege? I was looking at some 94 Acura Integra GSR wheels at the junk yard, their 4X100; I looked for some info and the offset is 45. Would I be pushing the limit if I decided to purchase the wheels and
have them mounted; I don't want these babies be hitting the strut, is there a high possible chance that I might need to use some spacers?

I be glad to have some opinions on these wheels, I think there 18 pounds and I can get them for cheap then buying brand new wheels. Can't complain, at least there 15 inches, I definitely don't want to go bigger. I just want wider traction for the wet season and descent traction for winter. I don't to go no more than 195/55.

I love those rims. They look hot on Proteges.

how much are you paying for the set? how wide are they? They're a real clean looking wheel.

I had a set on my 97 Escort when I first got it...not bad looking IMO.

That said, the tires that came with it (205/50/15 Yoko H4s) were a bit wide for the rims, and just grazed the rear struts. I ended up putting 30mm spacers (cheapo pep boys stuff). This didn't take long to kill the rear wheel bearings & start wearing rear tires quick.

I think with 195 width tires, the 45mm offset would be close, but ok.

WARNING: Use the Honda lugnuts, as the lugnut seats are different for Hondas than the Mazdas...if you use th Mazda lugs, it won't seat right and they will work themselves loose...don't ask how I know

                    Not bad.

                    Needs to be lowered though.

To fill people in on the mystery: honda uses ball seat lugs, whereas mazda uses cone seat.

It got lowered shortly after...but it also got fancy new wheels.

Now it's stripped, and the black car is getting it's parts...I'll get pics for it once I get the paint polished...
