This is one of the greatest posts here.
There is a lot of information for all of us that are rebuilding older GTs.
Especially for the suspension parts...
I just wonder if the Mazda suspensions are better,
and is it worth the hassle to swap over the Mazda suspension
to an 94 EGT ???Pete...

at this point any OE stuff is worn out and all the aftermarket parts are the same so... moot point
as far as the guy above with the cluster issues, you might want to make a separate threadEscort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

Whats the reason for the protege LX having less HP (2 or 3, I think) than the EGT, even though the motors are the same? This has been stumping me for years! My family has lots of bg's!

because every motor is slightly different, and every dyno reads slightly differentlyEscort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

And what about spindles? I also have an EGT that I was using as a parts car for my grandpa's EGT race car, but I have been looking into performance of the two, and found that the EGT is WAY faster, which I'm guessing is because of it's weight. I am now thinking of making the protege the parts car, and use the EGT as a race car instead. Some missing parts are: Radiator, CV joints, passenger spindle, gas tank, air box, and computer. Will all these parts fit on the EGT if I take them off the protege? I didn't see anything on spindles, so I'm just making sure before I tell my grandpa what I'm thinking. My family has lots of bg's!

The sending units in the tanks are different between Mazda and Ford due to Ford using their own fuel system. Everything else will work with a possible exception being the radiator; I know they're different between EGT and Pro but not sure if they're interchangeable...?97 Expedition XLT - 90 MX-6 LX - 95 Escort GT
