I figured if I needed a rear main, clutch, and oil pan gasket, i should just yank it and be done. Picked up this 120k LTS motor for $125 at a pick-and-pull in Mass, dropped it in, and once adjusting the timing to 16* and putting on my existing header, I ripped off 12 more whp. The 175k motor had timing, header, cut intake, exhaust intake cam, 2.5" CorkSport catback, and a couple other things I cant entirely remember. The 120k LTS motor never got the cut intake or camshaft.

That BP05 I yanked got resealed, dropped into a 1991 ProAWD with a GT3071 and pulled damn near 400 on the dyno. I think it may even be still running, this was like 8 years ago,

Was the awd pro on stock rods at 400 whp and were you running the stock usdm tranny.
bp swapped escort lx, gtr ecu, gtr intake manifold, A code VAF, rx7 460cc injectors, ky clutch, holset hy35 turbo on 8lbs, 38mm tial wastegate, ramhorn manifold, full 3 inch ss exhaust, walbro 255 fuel pump

Are the thermostat housings the same between GT and LX protege? Just curious since the radiator is different.
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

hey i have a protege 94 sohc 1.8, i want convert on dohc, and i got escort gt 95 with everything engine, tranny, ecu, but the only thing stop me to do the swap is the harness and ecu, question: do i need to change the ecu and harness and something else? thanks, pro94

the DOHC engine will run on the SOHC ecu.... using a mazda harness for a DOHC (or adding wires to your harness for the VICS & 4th disty wire[if its not there]) and the DOHC ecu is your best combo bet.
                    good luck
