ive been around a good many race cars, and i dont see ceramic valves or titanium valves very much. . . in fact more like never. everything ive ever been around has SS sodium filled valves or just swirl polished stainless. ceramic valves dont do well at high rpms (hey, im a 4/6 cylinder NA guy) because they have serious resonance problems up there, and titanium is so expensive and also has zero ability to bend so its normally reserved for super $$$ motors.
i can tell you one thing for sure though. . . a good set of oversized valvles makes a big difference in an NA 4 with the right cam/headwork. ive seen 40hp gains at the crank on a street honda with a properly built race prepped cylinder head and cam combo.sigpic
