    Temp. gauge problem

My temerature gauge is all wierd. During normal city driving the gauge goes where it always does, in the middle. But, at highway speeds the gauge goes all the way down and stays there until I get back onto city roads. As far as I can tell the heater works fine both on the highway and in the city. Is this a sign of a bad thermostat or something else?

just get a new sensor. $30 from mazda. it is a single pin grey sensor.
When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

Check your coolant level also. When there is little antifreeze the temp. gauge will often fluctuate.

I had the same problem and it turned out that my thermostat was stuck open.

          Thermostat.

Coolant Temperature Sensor will create different symptoms.
